There will be yacht racing outside the barrage starting off Penarth on both Saturday and Sunday.The Notice of race and sailing instructions for the Cruiser races are available for download from the new download page in the information section of our website - http://cardiffyachtclub.org/downloads.html.

There will be Dinghy racing in the Bay on both days.

On Saturday evening there will be a BBQ at about 18:00.

There will be live music on Saturday evening by a superb local cover band called ‘The Replicas’ who play pop and rock hits from the 60’s to the present.

There will be a magician providing kids entertainment from 14:30 on Sunday.

There will be a buffet at the presentation on Sunday evening.

Then more live entertainment from CYC’s very own ‘The Martyn Randall Band’.

The bar and galley will be open all weekend.

We are hoping to arrange a fishing competition for the same weekend as well - though this is yet to be confirmed.

Cardiff Yacht Club will be running a Junior Spring Dinghy Race Series, starting on Wednesday 25^th April, running for 6 weeks until 30^th May. There will be 2-3 races per evening.

Races will be sailed in Cardiff Bay, away from the regular adult Wednesday night racing, with full safety boat cover.

The aim is to provide our younger sailors with the experience required to be able to compete in the Club’s regatta on 2^nd-3^rd June, and to join the adult Wednesday night racing in the future.

Entrants should:-

• Be under 16 years old on 30^th May 2012.
• Hold RYA youth dinghy sailing stage 2 or equivalent.

The club has 5 Toppers and 2 Optimists, which will be available to entrants, or you may use your own boat. We can possibly get additional boats if required. RYA published PY handicaps will apply.

Cruising the Bristol Channel
6th March at 8pm Cardiff Bay Yacht Club.
Neil Lambden will be sharing his experiences with us on cruising destinations in the Bristol Channel.

At the club house on 16 Feb 2012 at 20:00.  Talk by Hugh and Lawrie from the RNLI.

Join us for a day sail, to start the new year’s sailing off as we mean to carry on. Dest

Meet at 09:00 on the benchs below the clubhouse flag pole. We’ll decide a destination between us, find out who would like to take their own boats and who would like to crew for someone there, and lock out at 10:00.

The club will be open for the New Year Party from 19:30, good company, music and fireworks. All pints £2!
